For my year 12 work experience I have decided to come back to Natterjack (as I had previously been in year 10 and thoroughly enjoyed it), going back when I’m a few years older has been really nice and I feel like I have especially now, found an idea for a possible job in the future.
In my free time I make fan edits, so being able to see that side of editing for a more professional approach is really eye opening, especially to the idea of using a skill I developed as a hobby and turning it into more of a job skill. When you hear about the job of ‘marketing’ you don’t really know what it fully entails, however, through my week here I find it to be a brilliant job, especially for what I like to do. I’d say it catered to my strengths, and it’s been an incredible week.
Throughout this week I have edited videos and clips, captioned social media posts, made photo edits for social media, researched, tried to help the growth of a newly made TikTok account, gathering podcast clips and help brainstorm ideas. Overall, I’ve found this week to be fun and insightful. The team of Natterjack are friendly and easy to talk to people which is what I think contributed to how great I have found the week to be.
As someone who has never had a picture of what I could pursue in the future, this week has definitely given me an option in my head of something I could do and enjoy doing in the future.
For anyone looking for work experience and has an interest in media, editing and just marketing in general, I would definitely recommend a work experience week at Natterjack.
